WHO WE ARE: In 1991, a grassroots partnership of physicians, patients, and volunteers founded Women At Risk (WAR®), the breast cancer program at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/ Columbia University Medical Center. Since then, Women At Risk has been funding and conducting innovative breast cancer research and implementing successful support and education programs for women who have or are at high risk for breast cancer in the NewYork City Metropolitan Area. Women At Risk’s programs enhance lives and offer hope to women and families affected by this disease. OUR MISSION: To enhance the lives of women who are at high risk for the development of breast cancer and women with breast cancer through research, education, and support.
